I hear that they’re best for when moving the truck back and forth.

Absolutely asking for a darwin award.
If my high school shop teacher taught us one thing, it was to never get under a vehicle suspended by a bumper jack. The guy was as laid back as they come, but he was emphatic as could possibly be about that. Also always remember to screw the whatever-the-fuck it’s called down on top of the tire machine before using it. Because if you half-ass it and it slips the threads, it might take your head off before blowing a hole in the ceiling. (As evidenced by the hole in the drop ceiling)
He also taught us how not to rack a full size pickup, as he dropped the same one twice before the student who owned it finally said no mas.
Good times. Wish we had made more out of it instead of treating it like a free period.

For extra security, you can raise them really high. Long things with weight at the ends
are harder to turn - it’s science.

If it’s this one. It was up on eBay, last January for £3,500 and went unsold.
It’s a 2001 Range Rover P38a, 4.6 V8.
I'm just about to start work so I can't post a link.

That explains why parts are so expensive on Rangies. They’re made of people.

A friend of mine is an auto shop teacher (I teach woods and CAD). He once was using my truck to demonstrate how to properly lift a full frame vehicle and set it onto jack stands. No sooner had he put the jack stand into place, than the huge hydraulic floor jack’s arm yielded, bent, and dropped my truck onto the stand. That was once class that never effed around with jack stands!
